TL:DR
A straightforward browser extension dramatically boosted productivity by 2.5 times. I spearheaded workflow enhancements for our real estate agents, shifting the focus to a user-centered strategy. Within just a week, we devised an efficient solution that significantly improved agent satisfaction with minimal development investment.
PROBLEM
We had a team of internal real estate advisors whose main duty was to provide clients with handpicked property suggestions from portals or the internal network. In the past, we used Salesforce and it took about 10 steps to send one property to a client. Considering that advisors sent around ten properties to a buyer daily and had 5-7 clients at once, it became a nightmare. Despite the company's requirement to use the internal system for property communication, advisors often resorted to using WhatsApp for its speed and employed workarounds.
MY ROLE
I talked to our best advisors to learn how they make and check use cases. After talking about these cases with the engineering team and thinking about our limits in time and technology, we suggested the idea of a browser add-on. This add-on would be like a box where we can put in certain details and send them to clients.
To make sure it works well, I made a prototype and tried it with our advisors. They really liked it and finished the job much faster than before. This made us feel sure that we were doing the right thing.
